I’ve seen them
Angry misleaders
People cheaters
The bottom feeders
Those who
Resent the honest
Hate and envy the true
Feeling you’re taking
Acclaim they’re due
Is this you?
What some call
Haters
Fakers
Infiltrators
Insecure attention seekers
Needy instigators
But what the people need
Are genuine leaders
And teachers
Those who truly care
Not about their own
Selfish urges
But the people’s welfare
Do you dare
Put aside
Your own greed
And selfish needs
To plant seeds
That will reap
A wise harvest
Not more tangled weeds
What we need
Is to be relieved
From the fake
And the frivolous
To stake our survival
And fate
On the serious
Not those trying to
To be great
And sound mysterious
Because what they
Spew is no good
Why what they say sounds delirious
And can’t be understood
Why they don’t do
The things they should
What is true
Comes through
In the simplest terms
Ten dollar words
Are used by those who
Haven’t learned
That the purpose of
Speech is to be
Understood
For each one to teach one
From the holler
To the hood
The best of us
Are those who
Freely gave
Of themselves
They didn’t steal or save
Things we can’t take
To the grave
It’s the warrior’s creed
Who gives to each
According to need
Whose life
Belongs to the community
Who aims to see the people prosper
In unity
But envy is the
Poison of those who prey
Who lie in wait
Conniving to steal the day
Acclaim is their aim
Not because it’s their due
They resent the love
And admiration
Given to the true
When all they need do
Is be sincere
And have no fear
The people’s
Love and respect
Will surely find you
But mind you
Those freely given
Things of value
Are never to the stingy
Because the enemy
Of the people’s energy
Is those filled
With envy
Whose hearts
Are poisoned
Whose aims are not
True
Who want recognition
Not due
Once again
Is that you?
