We Are New Afrikan (2026) By Kevin “Rashid” Johnson
A stolen people
With a stolen past
Made into a lowly caste
A separate class
Kidnapped from
Our homeland
By slavers
Made captive labor
In a no-man’s land
Our histories
Disrupted
Our cultures corrupted
Excluded from Amerikkka
For generations
Kept in lowly stations
And occupations
We are New Afrikan
Emphasis placed upon separation
Conditioned to self-hatred
Divided and ruled
Made subordinate tools
Confined on plantations
Prisons and other
Captive spaces
Enduring countless disgraces
Where the evolution
Of our identity began
Where many Afrikan
Nations were melded
And born again
We are New Afrikan
We are not confined
To the mere color of our face
Not a mere race
But a people defined
By evolution
In time
And place
By characteristics
Based
On a shared
History and social station
Economic condition
Vernacular and location
Features that
By every definition
Make a people a nation
We are New Afrikan
We must unite with all
Who share an oppressed station
In Amerikkka
This prison house
Of nations
An imperialist empire
Feeding on the world
Exploiting every woman
Man boy and girl
We need a community
Of unity
To end this condition
Of the wealthy waging
A war of attrition
Their empire rose
With our bondage on plantations
And will fall
Under the struggle
Of all oppressed nations
We are New Afrikan
