REFLECTIONS ON THE MOVIE “BLINK TWICE” (2025), by Kevin “Rashid” Johnson

Reflecting on the movie
“Blink Twice”
A rich white male rape scene
made a paradise
For the victims of this
wicked scheme
Had the women believing
they were living the dream
But sexual violence
wasn’t the only outrage
Women were murdered, tied to stakes
gang raped on stage
The next day they were
reclining by the pool
Drinking cocktails with their abusers
Were they just playing the fool?
Not at all!
So how’d these men pull this off?
Yesterday, the women were fighting back
today they’d gone soft
Having forgotten these men
were their enemies
With a potion administered
the men erased their memories
A metaphor for what’s
happening today
Rich white men erasing history
so our bad memories go away
So we forget what we suffered
just days ago
People of color, workers and women
won’t resist what we don’t know
With their campaigns against DEI
Critical Race Theory
The agenda is rich white racists
erasing our histories
But “Blink Twice” took
a wicked turn
Snake venom revived the women’s memories
but they didn’t burn
Down the plantation
They didn’t fight to set free
Their own men and unite with them
to rebuild our communities
Instead the uprising
ended in disaster
The Black woman who led the revolt
replaced the old master
And made him
her mindless plaything
with the potion once used on her
she erased his memory
Now she was the new predator
atop the same empire
This is the meaning of “Girl Power!”
what feminists aspire
To achieve in the end
it’s not freedom for all
But to assume the throne
upon the white male’s fall
A dream that would only disserve
oppressed communities
We need freedom for all
which demands real unity
We’re not looking
to just settle scores
Freedom for all isn’t feminism
It’s real class war!
This middle class
white women’s theory won’t save us
“Blink Twice” shows it just puts skirts
on those who re-enslave us
Which only means
living a sequel
Of what we’ve suffered for centuries
We need All Power to the People!
