\nFor the state is a weapon of classes
\nUsed for or against the masses
\nWielded by whichever class has this
\nControl in its hand
\nThrough which it commands
\nSocial relations and makes its demands
\nPrisoners rose against the 13th Amendment
\nDemanding that prison slavery be ended
\nBut the slogan was coopted
\nBy those in society who so opted
\nTo change our mission
\nFrom abolishing slavery to abolishing prisons
\nThe contradiction between
\nThe workers and bosses may seem
