{"id":3485,"date":"2023-10-08T14:48:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-08T14:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rashidmod.com\/?p=3485"},"modified":"2023-10-20T17:05:33","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T17:05:33","slug":"prison-lives-matter-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rashidmod.com\/?p=3485","title":{"rendered":"PRISON LIVES MATTER (2023)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1257\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1257\" src=\"http:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners-1024x791.jpg\" alt=\"Rashid_political_prisoners\" width=\"700\" height=\"541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners-1024x791.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners-300x231.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners-600x463.jpg 600w, https:\/\/rashidmod.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Rashid_political_prisoners-700x540.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prison lives matter<br \/>\nlives shattered<br \/>\nliving the American nightmare,<br \/>\nWe need support<br \/>\nagainst the courts<br \/>\nhow they warehouse us here.<\/p>\n<p>Razor wire plantations<br \/>\ntheir inspiration<br \/>\nslave pens of old,<br \/>\nKilling fields<br \/>\nriot armor and shields<br \/>\nif the truth be told&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>These places<br \/>\nare not spaces<br \/>\nmeant to reform or repair,<br \/>\nA trillion dollar industry<br \/>\nthat sentenced me<br \/>\nby methods unjust and unfair.<\/p>\n<p>No jury of peers<br \/>\nlawyers who play on our fears<br \/>\nto pressure pleas of guilt,<br \/>\nWith concentrations of cops and guns<br \/>\nwe will come<br \/>\nthe reasons these places are built.<\/p>\n<p>With political education<br \/>\nour inspiration<br \/>\nto raise awareness and senses of hope,<br \/>\nOutside of communities<br \/>\nwhose disunity<br \/>\nis predicated on cops flooding them with dope.<\/p>\n<p>Yes they create the problems<br \/>\nthen pretend to solve them<br \/>\nwith warehouses under key and lock,<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re living commodities<br \/>\nit&#8217;s no oddity<br \/>\nto call us live stock.<\/p>\n<p>Violence and coercion<br \/>\nis their version<br \/>\nof so-called security and control,<br \/>\nIn a matter of decades<br \/>\nthey made<br \/>\nthe prison population multiply eight-fold.<\/p>\n<p>Mass incarceration<br \/>\nthe world&#8217;s largest prison population<br \/>\nin an empire that boasts justice and freedom,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s all a lie<br \/>\nthe reason why<br \/>\nthey capture our bodies and feed &#8217;em&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Into the warehouses<br \/>\nseparated from spouses<br \/>\ncommunities, loved ones and friends,<br \/>\nLack of medical care<br \/>\ntreated unfair<br \/>\nfor many our lives prematurely end.<\/p>\n<p>Our communities reduced<br \/>\nwe can&#8217;t reproduce<br \/>\nseparating the sexes,<br \/>\nDestroying our homes<br \/>\nspouses left alone<br \/>\nin need of companions become our exes.<\/p>\n<p>Join our cause<br \/>\nwithout you we&#8217;re all lost<br \/>\nunity is our only hope,<br \/>\nAnd did I mention<br \/>\nit&#8217;s worse than lynching<br \/>\nwithout due process millions hang by a rope.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>By Kevin Rashid Johnson<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prison lives matter lives shattered living the American nightmare, We need support against the courts how they warehouse us here.
