RACIST HOLLYWOOD (2023)<\/p>\n

We’ve forgotten that Hollywood began
\nBy promoting the Ku Klux Klan.<\/p>\n

Its first blockbuster presentation,
\nThe film The Birth of a Nation.<\/p>\n

That dehumanized Black men,
\nPortraying them as all having a plan.<\/p>\n

To stalk, prey on, and rape white women,
\nSo the Klan must protect them and.<\/p>\n

Keep Blacks out of political power,
\nBecause ignorant, corrupt, destined to sour.<\/p>\n

Cherished white ideals,
\nThat Blacks will only rape, maim, and steal.<\/p>\n

This image prevailed, then,
\nCame the film Gone With the Wind.<\/p>\n

Cast the Black woman as not too bright,
\nWhose only use was to serve whites.<\/p>\n

And remember the minstrel shows,
\nThe most famous was Jim Crow.<\/p>\n

The craze that swept the nation,
\nEven became the name of segregation.<\/p>\n

Hollywood continued this disgrace,
\nStereotyping us in blackface.<\/p>\n

Humiliating us was funny,
\nThen they saw Black films made money.<\/p>\n

So as Sydney Pointier revealed,
\nThe fate of Black actors was sealed.<\/p>\n

Only a handful would receive,
\nAll the major roles played by 2 or 3.<\/p>\n

Nothing’s changed its the same today,
\nA small group of Black actors still play.<\/p>\n

In all major films,
\nTo name just one of them.<\/p>\n

Samuel L. Jackson over 40 to his name,
\nInstead of diversity and opportunity its the same.<\/p>\n

Black faces in feature after feature,
\nAs though talented Blacks are a rare creature.<\/p>\n

And let’s not forget Tarzan,
\nAfrika subdued by a single white man.<\/p>\n

Or the insane joy,
\nOf typecast Indians slaughtered by cowboys.<\/p>\n

And the major problem we don’t control,
\nHow we are portrayed in roles.<\/p>\n

So our youth are fed images to emulate,
\nThat continue to misrepresent and berate.<\/p>\n

Our history, our image, our ideals,
\nWhile our creations Hollywood steals.<\/p>\n

The misrepresentation never stops,
\nOur feature roles crooks or cops.<\/p>\n

Like Birth of a Nation and Gone With the Wind,
\nWe’re either degenerates or servants of their system.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day its all about,
\nHow much money we can make them no doubt.<\/p>\n

So including Blacks isn’t a care,
\nUntil they consider market share.<\/p>\n

Or they need to suppress,
\nStirrings of Black unrest.<\/p>\n

Both these factors were the inspiration,
\nBehind the era of Blackspoliation.<\/p>\n

The use of film was devised as,
\nA counter to the 1960s uprisings.<\/p>\n

And we all recognize racism on award nights,
\nThe exclusion of color in “Oscars too white.”<\/p>\n

So the response is cloaked in,
\nRecognizing a few Black and Brown tokens.<\/p>\n

And this is supposed to make it all good,
