We need a proper assessment
\nWhat is education?
\nPassing the torch of things learned
\nTo the next generation.<\/p>\n

Which makes our elders
\nPriceless jewels,
\nIndispensable to our liberation schools.<\/p>\n

But the young
\nCan’t be confined,
\nTo what was developed
\nIn yesterday’s minds.<\/p>\n

Things evolve
\nChange and grow,
\nEvery day presents
\nNew things to know.<\/p>\n

But the future
\nMust be served by the past,
\nThose who must live it
\nown it
\nSo our task.<\/p>\n

Is to train the young
\nFor critical thought,
\nThe type of learning
\nThat can’t be bought.<\/p>\n

We also must counter
\nThe system’s designs,
\nTo brainwash the people
\nDisable our minds.<\/p>\n

Like Malcolm X said
\nTo put it mild,
\nOnly a fool allows their enemy
\nTo teach their child.<\/p>\n

So what truly
\nIs the point of education?
\nTo prepare the people
\nTo fight for liberation.<\/p>\n

And what’s the use of information
\nIf we don’t understand,
\nHow to apply it
\nAnd change things according to plans.<\/p>\n

To advance the communities
\nMeet our needs,
\nEnable us to see
\nBoth the forest and trees.<\/p>\n

It’s a high tech world
\nSurvival demands skill,
\nHealthy human development
\nDemands training that will.<\/p>\n

Enable the people
\nTo seize the reins,
\nLearn to work in cooperation
\nUnify our brains.<\/p>\n

One divides into two
\nA dialectical fact,
\nEach one teach two
\nSo none are held back.<\/p>\n

Teach the dialectical materialist
\nTheory of knowledge,
\nThe scientific method of learning
\nWhich ain’t taught in college.<\/p>\n

This cuz you aren’t programmed
\nTo just memorize,
\nInstead what you think you know
\nMust be applied.<\/p>\n

First you observe with your senses
\nTill you detect a routine,
\nThen from patterns
\nYou begin to predict things.<\/p>\n

Develop concepts
\nAbout how things work,
\nThen test these theories in practice
\nWork out the quirks.<\/p>\n

Only when the results pan out
\nAccording to design,
\nWill you really grasp truth
\nWith your mind.<\/p>\n

As we divide this knowledge
\nEach one teach two,
\nThen the world will be a college
