Correction by Kevin “Rashid” Johnson

rashid_indianaIn the Sept 2020 issue of the San Francisco Bay View newspaper, and on the paper’s website, an “Urgent Call to Action” was made on my behalf, following events at Indiana’s Pendleton Correctional Facility, where I was thrown in solitary and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Weapon on
another prisoner and a guard.

The call came in response to my reporting to my partner Shupavu wa Kirima that PCF officials were withholding my property and life sustaining blood pressure medications, and were trying to kill me by doing so. I asked her to convey this situation to others to have them to pressure the pigs to
deliver my property and meds.

Prior complaints had been made, to which the pigs responded claiming I was pending a transfer and my property was in the custody of transferring officials.

The call to action that went out went much further than what I said, to imply that I felt my life was in jeopardy because of claims that the pigs had set me up to be attacked. I made no such allegations nor did I ask that this narrative be publicized. Whatever transpired between me and other
prisoners is to be resolved between prisoners.

Revolutionaries recognize that contradictions between the people are qualitatively different than those between the people and the pigs, and are handled differently. I do NOT involve the pigs in contradictions between me and the people, no matter what they might be.

I do appreciate all the support that followed in response to my denied meds and peoperty, but must clarify that I did not and do not seek nor endorse calls for action from the pigs concerning issues that arise between me and other prisoners.

All Power to the People!”
